Aesthetic, function, an emotional experience; are qualities intrisic to Padmini Pandey’s architectural design sensibilities and creations. Years of experience across continents and her unique sensibility to the communicative elements in space design are reflected in her myriad creations ranging from hotels, restaurants / night clubs, fitness clubs, offices & homes - each with its own distinct ‘identity’.

Padmini Pandey has a bachelor in architecture from Rizvi college of Architecture, Mumbai University, India. On graduating, she joined a leading Mumbai based studio - specialist for hotel architecture and interior design. Their association of 8 years led her to become the only creative director & profit partner in the firm; resulting on 30 plus projects all over India , which included 3 & 4 star hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, corporate offices, retails & residences. Many of these projects were recognized for their distinct ‘design personality’, through awards & publications.

Her extensive international travels gave her an extensive exposure to the global design scenario; and, her passion to be a part of this international design community & attract focus on India in the global market, motivated her to renounce her directorship at the peak of her career & go back to school to ‘re-learn’.

Padmini did her masters degree in interior – living & space design from Instituto Europeo di Design, Italy. She lived in Milan from 2007 -2010, and worked on projects with Campari, Farem-Italy, Swarovski through her research and design program.

Soon, Padmini was Chief Architect and Designer with Kingsize Architects (2008 – 2010), a leading design firm in the Design district of Milan, where she was responsible for concept and design for exhibition spaces at many prestigious exhibitions in Italy (Salone dal Mobilie – Milan, Abitare Tempo – Verona, Made Expo- Milan). During the same period; She led her team to design a wellness centre in Rome, a 300 room 4star ‘Mercure’ hotel in Riyadh (KSA), a chain of fitness clubs ‘Body Masters’ in Riyadh (KSA), and a 3star hotel in Cannes - France.

Her international experience in design & exposure to the Italian products / companies, along with her expertise on local (Indian) culture and crafts put her at an influential position in the Italian market with respect to the fast-growing Indian market. This led to a strategic partnership with veteran Italian architect Marco Piva with the aim to bring international quality and unique concepts to the emerging 'quality conscious' Indian market.

Exciting, fluid, functional, this is the language that distinguishes Marco Piva’s architectural creations, product design and interior design. The effort in material research and technology, the value of differentiation, the design innovation, lead the establishment of Studio Marco Piva, whose production becomes one of the most representative of the italian design, from Masterplan to architecture, from interior to industrial design. Marco Piva, a traveller and a designer, an innovator who is dedicated to create design solutions pervaded by stylistic freedom.
